Zorgonzola

We all bundled into Mulder in Pamplona to embark on further exploration of Spain.

Poor Tom was worn out from his non-bull-running experience.

The name of our next destination? Not actually 'Zorgonzola'. That was just Tom's slightly confused nickname for the lovely Spanish city of Zaragoza.

Tom decided that simply walking across the bridge was not interesting enough. So he climbed it.

Once Tom had come back to earth again, we moved towards the centre of the city in search of lunch. Of course. How could we think of anything but food?

We did admire the very cute little pedestrian street light men, similar to Berlin's.

And even their light poles were decorated!

Something's telling me that they love their lions in Zaragoza.

Personally, I prefer the mini horses.

I got Tom involved in my door admiration this time.

What better way to enjoy a new city than imitating statues?

For what we thought was a very small town, their main square is incredibly impressive.

But our stomachs would only let us admire for a short time, before we had to turn our attention to more important questions - where to eat for lunch. How about an all-you-can-eat buffet? Yes thank you!

Feeling like we'd just graduated to another belt notch, we went back to the main square to see things properly.

The cathedral in Zaragoza is incredible. I vote it my favourite cathedral of the entire trip, and by this stage we'd seen a LOT of cathedrals! No photos inside, I'm afraid. You'll just have to go see it for yourself!

They've also got a very interesting glacier look-alike fountain in the main square.

That of course reminds me of this little guy.

And then we found Zaragoza's own leaning tower. And of course, had to take this photo.

Unfortunately its lean isn't as obvious via photo, but you can just see it, right?

Some Roman ruins... Zaragoza has it all!

A statue of Julius Caesar...

And very high-aiming fountains.

Dave decided it wasn't high enough for him.

They did finally move on from the toilet humour, and I started taking photos of buildings again.

And very impressive graffiti walls! Got to love the grammar.

Ha ha, your aim's too high!

Tom relived his time in Salzburg and gave us all a lovely rendition of Do Re Mi...

I averted my eyes and ears asap and admired this fountain instead.

We decided to cross a different bridge back to the other side of the river, where Mulder sat waiting patiently.

No bridge in Europe is safe from locks!

We stumbled across a playground, and of course had to try out the swings...

We admired the very impressive cathedral from across the water...

And we thought it was kinda cute that they were so keen to make sure that every street light had a lion badge that they actually zip tied this one on!

We kept wandering along the river...

Admired the sort of beauty of giant apartment complexes (with laundry included)...

Once we got back to Mulder we decided to take a little scenic drive to see a few of the modern sights of Zaragoza...

Cross the river from the town centre, and everything looks brand spanking new!

And then came the very sad moment when we had to say goodbye to Mulder, as we parted ways with Dave and Cassie, to continue on our respective solitary travels. They dropped us off at the train station, and we were on our own again.

The Zaragoza train station is very impressive. It's almost like an airport! In fact, it's exactly like an airport!

Next stop? Barcelona, baby!
