Last Praguian Day

Prague once again put on the good weather for us for our final day there. We decided to go for another walk through the Old Town, admiring the beautiful old buildings again.

Oh, and we bought ourselves some tickets to see a little performance that evening. This guy was right outside the theatre. It’s a dementor again!!!

With that organised, we finally managed to see the 12 o’clock chiming of the clock in the town centre.

And admired the giant hams that we had sampled a little of on our first day.

We enjoyed the very entertaining (and organised – he gave me this postcard in return for a donation) street entertainers…

Tom of course kept his eyes peeled for fancy cars.

And then we took ourselves off to the Jewish quarter.

A Louis of some description had to make an appearance…

We admired the little Jewish synagogue…

And peeked into the Jewish graveyard…

And then kept wandering.

We kept wandering towards the river, re-admiring some of the buildings we had seen on our first night in Prague.

…and of course we gave this lion a scratch as we passed by.

This particular poster is an advertisement for a swimwear shop that’s all over Europe. Tom is yawning in an attempt to pretend that he doesn’t enjoy seeing it everywhere.

We then hopped on a tram to take us to see the ‘Dancing Building’. It’s very cool.

It sits just near the river, which never ceases to be pretty and peaceful.

We then took ourselves up the street that it sits in the corner of. That particular street has an amazing variety of buildings in it! You may just be able to make out the Dancing Building at the end of the street on the left there.

We found this church, which was the hideout of some paratroopers during the war. You can still see the bullet holes in the wall.

We then made a brief stop in a supermarket nearby, and had to admire the extremely colourful cheese section!

And then it was time to make our way back to our hotel to get ready for our concert.

Europe has some of the longest escalators down to their metros that we’ve ever seen!

We bumped into this bride in the foyer of our hotel. Her dress is really similar to mine!

Time got away from us a bit and we ended up having to speed-walk to the concert (me in some of my newly purchased high heels). It was worth it, though. The theatre was beautiful!

Tom was excited.

So excited, he even snapped a photo of the performers while they were on stage. Tsk tsk tsk.

Then came the tremendously important task of figuring out what to have for dinner. We wandered through the Old Town reading every menu in sight without being able to decide, until we stumbled across the Marina where we had eaten the first night. Tom’s eyes lit up at the sight of the dog statue outside, and my mouth started watering when I remembered my lovely gnocchi, so we had to stay.

And yes, I ordered the gnocchi. Again.

And that was that! Our little period of comparative relaxation in Prague was over. On to Berlin tomorrow!
