Munich By Night

When we returned from our fairytale castle tour, we decided to explore Munich on foot, with our main objective being to find dinner.

We considered this option for about half a second. Just kidding. Not even part of a second.

Back to Marienplatz again.

It's a pretty spectacular building.

We found the opera house...

Tom petted the local lion...

And salivated at the window of an electrics shop. Each to his own.

This lion wasn't quite so friendly.

After looking at all of those grand, beautiful buildings, we stumbled across this monstrosity.

And Tom pretended he was James Bond for a moment.

And then enjoyed the spooky uplighting.

We searched and searched for a nice little affordable restaurant in a nice location, and eventually found ourselves back near the Hofbrauhaus. We didn't really want to go there twice, so settled on a little Italian place nearby.

Here is Tom very VERY happy to finally be getting some food. Bread dipped in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We felt like we were back in Italy!

So fortunately a very long day didn't end in starvation and tears like in Switzerland, and we slept soundly our last night in Munich.
