Goodnight Prague!

After our first not very Prague-ian dinner in Prague, we decided to cross to the other side of the river and do a bit of exploring there.

Amazingly, Tom was still a bit hungry, so we stopped at a little cafe for him to take advantage of their coffee and apple strudel deal.

This is a ginormous flag pole, in case anyone was wondering. I had to lie down on the ground on my back to get this shot.

We were just about to check out the rest of the castle/church area, when we started hearing classical music coming from behind us. We turned around, to see this.

In case it's not obvious in that picture (which I know it's not), that very bright thing in the centre of the picture that looks like fire is actually fire. More specifically, somebody's name being burned! We had to go and check it out.

We then realised that we had to stop acting like excited tourists and observe quietly, because we'd stumbled across a very formal, very traditional funeral.

They put the hearse in the back of the horse-drawn carriage, and started a procession down the street.

It was incredible.

We decided we'd probably done enough ogling, and left the mourners to their business, going back to our sightseeing.

The gothic church at the top of the hill is spectacular.

And then we started making our way back down towards Prague again.

There's our favourite restaurant again.

Goodnight Prague!
