Cruising the French Riviera

We set the alarm nightmarishly early for our last morning in France after our late night getting lost on the way from Gap, and got ourselves packed up and back in the car again, groaning all the way.

This guy took pride of place on top of one of our glad-wrapped suitcases in the back seat.

But that beautifully sunshiny shot was later in the day. This was what the day looked like as we got ourselves back on those curvy roads towards Nice.

It's amazing how much the absence of rain can make a road that seemed terrifying mere hours earlier seem comparatively tame.

Tom was still getting used to the wrong-side-of-car and wrong-side-of-road scenario.

We arrived back in Nice as the morning runners were stepping out.

And we kept on cruising East along the coast.

And we could hardly believe how amazing it was.

We had to get out of the car for a minute here to admire the view properly.

And then it was back on the road again.

And the thing that screamed 'French Riviera' the most? The little cow concrete mixer(??) statue, of course!

That's not the end of our travels yet though, we had grand plans to make it into another country and back again before our flight home! Wait and see whether we made it!
