In fact that's a belated Happy Blogiversary to me, since it was actually yesterday and I completely forgot!
On 13th December 2010 I kicked this little blog off with a little blurb on a small bathroom renovation we did at a little townhouse in Brisbane.
And my, hasn't a lot happened since!
We moved into, then out of our new old house, then raised it...
We had a few nervous breakdowns dealing with machinery (see here, here and here), and a few more while trying to get the power reconnected to the house (see here, here and here)...

Moved back in even without power (see here)...
Finally got power reconnected...
Incidentally, just the sight of that bare, shining lightbulb even now makes me want to break out into song...Sister Act style!
And then we discovered that our initial raising plans were wrong, and that we hadn't lifted the house high enough to be able to build legal-height rooms underneath (see here for the joy-filled account of that discovery), so we raised the house yet again!
We've removed walls and redone floors...
We've painted, painted and painted walls and ceilings...
We've moved doorways, we've created a bathroom, and we've destroyed a bathroom.
We've fulfilled a dream a few years in the making and traveled (or should I say eaten our way) through Europe (and written 138 blog posts on the subject), making memories and increasing our waistlines.
We've made headway on our kitchen and lived without a stove top for a full year...
We've built new front stairs...
And we've built a few fences (here, here and here).
We've played around with plumbing, and played around with it some more.
And we've tried to turn a construction site into a home with some furniture and artwork.
And blood, sweat and tears aside (all of which we've shed in abundance), we've had a ball!
Bring on the next year!
