You're probably getting as sick of all our tree felling as I am, but unfortunately it's something that must be done when you've got giant 100-year-old-plus trees that are standing in the way of your grand plans.
With the recent floods that hit Brisbane, the council has allowed people to dump their rubbish at council dumps for free. This is wonderful news for all those whose belongings have been destroyed. We decided that we should also probably take advantage of the offer to get rid of some of our unwanted vegetation instead of depositing it tiny bit by tiny bit into our green bin each fortnight.
So, Tom attacked the giant mango tree in the backyard.
Unfortunately the chainsaw was too blunt, so it was attack by axe! |
Allie chose the best spot to lie in to maximise her chances of getting hit by a falling branch |
Tom barking up the right tree. Har har har |
Whoops! There goes the fence! |
Beginning to look quite bare |
Tom enjoying wielding an axe a little too much, methinks! |
Tom swinging from branch to branch. I always knew he was a monkey! |
The double whammy - ute AND trailer loaded up |
Tom securing all of the branches to the trailer |
The brothers (Tom's and mine) showing off their strenth and prowess |
And again. Why is it I always manage to catch Daniel with a murderous look on his face? |
Allie distracting us by asking for the ball to be thrown |
Unfortunately the clothesline couldn't withstand a falling branch |
Poser |
And so ends yet another day of
landscaping ahem tree destruction!
Love Bec
