Lots of blood, sweat and tears went into Our Next House, as we oversaw its construction from start to finish, and then embarked on the process of landscaping every square foot of the yard.
From paving the driveway to building the fence, to planting the garden, to installing the letterbox, we did it all.
And then we decided to move!
Here's the finished product.

The front garden again, looking across to the area in front of the media rom |

The little ceramic dog that has lived at this address for decades. See here for more about him. |

The kitchen again. |
My beautifully organised pantry. I was so sad to say goodbye to this! |
The rumpus room, in a slightly earlier incarnation |
The view from the dining room doors out to the alfresco |
The alfresco. And Allie! |
Tom's beloved media room, with the big screen on the left |
And now upstairs, in the little gallery at the top of the stairs. Front balcony through the doors at the top right. |
The guest bedroom (before it got sacrificed to house homestay students) |
The main bathroom |
The ensuite (the light has done something weird to the colours, I'm afraid) |
The master bedroom |
The back steps from grass up to alfresco (see here for the early stages of their construction) |
The back of the house, with our home-made retaining wall (see its early stages here) |
The plants along the top of said retaining wall |
The outside-laundry area, with baby plants and water tank |
The little archway that leads down the North side of the house (and specially made gate as a simpler homage to match the fancy front gate) |
And that's our second house! We were very sad to leave, but who can deny the allure of a new project? Certainly not us!
