It looks like our relief over our successful house raising and jubilation about our ground floor height are to be short-lived.
Guess who was at the house when Tom came back from a trip to Bunnings this morning? The power company attempting to connect the power. Fantastic!!! At long last!!!!
Nope.
Not only had we not quite got the meter box and its associated cabling back into place after raising the house (not to mention the fact that the house isn't quite connected to the steel poles yet - more to come on that soon), but they informed us that because our electrician hadn't connected the hot water system properly they couldn't connect us. Meaning we have to get the electrician back to fix it and then submit another works request form and start the ten-day waiting period AGAIN!!!
This is the third time we've had to go through this, and it's getting old. Really REALLY REALLY old.
I think this will be me from now on...
